Cheshire's Emma Farrel, a freshman on the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team, lifted the Owls to a 1-0 victory over Mercy by scoring the game-winning goal with only 1 minute, 30 seconds left in regulation Wednesday in Dobbs Ferry, New York. SCSU was outshot 12-8 and out cornered, 10-7, in the game, but it was Farrel's second goal of the year that proved to be the difference.
